Some will argue that silicone is not a good material to be using in the automotive environment, as gasoline and oil will degrade silicone on contact.  We have had experiences with this, and while silicone hoses will swell under prolonged contact with petroleum products, it will not cause them to burst or fail unless under high pressures.  If you are worried about silicone hoses failing, you can go with Viton.  Be warned, Viton hoses are not cheap!  Small diameter Viton hoses go for about $10/foot.  Viton is high-temperature and petroleum resistant.  Where can you get them?  Try McMaster-Carr...
