The transmission mount system is composed of three parts.  There is the metal cross bracket with a hollow rubber bushing in the center.  The other two parts are identical rubber blocks with metal studs.  The cross bracket mount across the transmission tunnel and is primary used to keep the transmission position laterally.  The two rubber blocks are mounted diagonally on top of those cross member and are designed to take the vertical loads of the transmission onto the metal cross member.  If any part of this transmission mount system goes bad, this usually induces a thud or clunk when the vehicle is accelerating.

Mazdaformance offers Mazda Competition transmission mounts for an upgrade.  These upgrade transmission mounts are stiffer than the stock OEM Mazda units.
