As these cars age, electronics components fail.  Intermittent problems with headlights or interior illumination can be tracked down to the headlight cluster switch and / or to it's wiring.  Cracked cold solder joints can also affect the headlight cluster switch, and these can be easily repaired.  Below are some pics that describe the cold solder joint problems.  It's recommended to redo all the solder joints for reliability.

	This it the left most circle from the above pic. Using a macro shot, the crack is obvious.
	These are the two, right circles from the above pic. Again, under macro, the cracks are obvious
