The "CPU" is an electronics module that controls a number of specific
electronics within the vehicle. A short list of controlled electronics
include: horn, turn signals, hazards. The CPU is located in
the driver's side kick panel; you'll need to remove the plastic kick panel
itself via three plastic push clips. The CPU is secured by a single
10mm nut. Three wiring plugs exit the black plastic housing - one
from the center, and two from the bottom. The wiring plugs need to
be removed to remove the CPU itself. Once the CPU is loose, you'll need
to remove a few screws and pry some of the panels off. Once everything
is open, concentrate on the main board where the largest plug connects.
These cold solder joints are typically cracked, and resoldering them fixes
the problems 99% of the time.
