If you're using the
stock filter and air filter box, check the air filter if it's in good
condition. If it's dirty, replace the unit with a stock OEM, quality
aftermarket, or upgrade to
a K&N drop-in replacement air filter. A quick test to see if your air
filter needs replacement is to remove the air filter and hold it up to sunlight
or other light source - if you can see light, it's still good; if you cannot see
any light, change it!
Note: the bolts that secure the air filter
in the stock air filter box tend to pull out their anchor fasteners on the
bottom. When tightening these bolts, do not overtighten!
