Oil leaking from the front of the main pulley is due to a combination of:
Large, copper crush washer behind the eccentric shaft bolt
Sealant on the eccentric shaft bolt
Rubber o-ring at the "tip" of the eccentric shaft bolt
Be very careful when removing the front eccentric
shaft bolt. The thrust bearings can slip and kill the engine.
Please check the Mazdatrix link for more details:

All of this can be accessed and fixed by removing the front eccentric shaft bolt.
- Remove fan shroud and fan.
- Remove 19mm front eccentric shaft bolt in the middle of the main pulley.
Note: this bolt is on real good (thread sealant), so be prepared for
a good fight.
- You should be able to access all the pieces once the eccentric shaft bolt
is removed.
To help in removal of the front eccentric shaft bolt, a good trick is to use a
1/2"-drive (minimum) breaker bar with a 19mm socket. Crank everything over
until the breaker bar is laying on the driver's side sub frame. Warp the
breaker bar with rags to prevent any damage to paint. Closing the hood would
prevent anything from flying if it comes loose or breaks. Click the starter
on for a split second to loosen the bolt.
