The advent of fuel computers opened a whole dimension in tuning and flexibility for the average FC car enthusiast.  No longer is messing with mechanical devices necessary, but on-the-fly adjustments within the cockpit of the car is a major step in convenience.  With the flexibility of these units also adds danger in killing an engine due to overly leaning fuel curves; be very careful with adjustments when changing settings!

Several manufacturers have developed their own versions of a fuel computer.  These all rely on readjusting the input signal of the primary air flow metering sensor to adjust fuel delivery from the stock ECU.  Many allow adjustments that are dependent on several RPM bands to give even more fine-tuning of the fuel delivery curve.
